The post-apocalypse is a common destination for game designers who try to create all sorts of problems and foes to fight in a destroyed world. In this game, the robots seem to have maintained a lot of the infrastructure, but the problem is that they've eliminated most of the humans. As possibly the last human alive, you have a responsibility to take down as many robots as you can before they take you out.
